Domestic and foreign trademark preparation and prosecution of marks used in association with pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare services, and computer software and hardware. Trademark practice further includes protection of marks for a company having 300 globally registered marks including surveying of confusingly similar marks, issuing of cease & desist letters, strategizing opposition and cancelation of third party marks, and interacting with the U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection to seize counterfeit goods.
Registration of a variety of works of authorship including visual and nondramatic literary works for artistic exprssion in consumer products, software, and websites.
Domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution of medical devices; medical diagnostics; mechanical devices; consumer products; business methods; and computer software including more than 180 patent applications and patents for a major credit card company covering network technologies for loyalty programs and payment transaction processing (see e.g., US Patent No. 8,160,934, also listing Mowzoon as an inventor) including in the healthcare field (e.g., Flexible Savings Accounts). Further responsible for freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses and patent portfolio management including conducting patent scrubs; categorizing patents in light of business unit's objectives; surveying competitor patent portfolios in light of client portfolio; assisting with acquisition due diligence study of third party patents; and strategizing claim scope in light of litigation, licensing, or venture capital investment objectives.
Preparation of confidentiality, non-compete, licensing, assignment, consulting, internet terms and conditions and privacy policies, and software development agreements for clients providing services through private and public networks.
